EPC contractors
For EPC contractors: test the commitment before the price, schedule, and execution basis are locked in.
This page is for EPC and construction contractors bidding or delivering large industrial work. Torvane reviews the construction basis of a commitment with field eyes, under NDA, and reports the assumptions most likely to break. Advisory only: the contractor owns the price, the plan, and every decision.
Before the price goes out
A bid is a set of assumptions about the field: productivity, craft density, peak headcount, indirect staffing, shift and weather patterns, subcontract coverage, and schedule logic with float that survives contact. Under bid-room pressure those assumptions are inherited rather than tested, and the ones that hurt most are the ones nobody wrote down.
A cold-eyes review three to four weeks before submission tests the construction portion of the commitment and ends with the assumptions most likely to break, what each is worth, and the clarifications or exceptions worth writing. Bid and execution plan review before sanction.
Craft and supervision the estimate assumes
Every estimate carries a craft histogram, and every histogram carries an assumption about a regional labor market at a specific time. The question is not whether bodies exist. It is whether proven-capable hands exist by trade, at that peak, at that wage, against whatever else is being built nearby, and whether supervision is available at the ratio the plan assumes with experience in this scope.
Torvane measures craft capability trade by trade and reports what the region can supply and what it cannot. Craft capability measured by trade.
Recovery when a project is behind
When a job is losing hours, the internal read is contested and the client's read is worse. An independent statement of physical condition, achieved productivity, and the real constraints gives a contractor something defensible to plan from and to discuss with the owner, before a new date is promised that the field cannot support.
Project condition and recovery options diagnostic produces that statement and sets out the options with what each requires.
Confidentiality and independence
A mutual NDA is executed before any document is exchanged. Bid material, rates, and estimates stay with the assignment and are never carried into another one. Conflicts are checked before an engagement letter is issued: Torvane does not work for the owner and the EPC on the same project without written consent from both.
Fees are fixed and confirmed in writing before work begins. Nothing is contingent on a bid being won, a claim succeeding, or a project being sanctioned. How the work is done, and its boundaries.
What the contractor receives
Red-line commentary on the documents reviewed, a ranked list of gaps, an assumption risk register with exposure ranges, recommended clarifications and exceptions, and a readout for the bid board or the project leadership. Written plainly, in the contractor's own terms, with the observed basis for each point stated so it can be argued with.

Frequently asked questions
How late in a bid can a review still be useful?
Three to four weeks before submission is ideal, while clarifications and exceptions can still be written. Later than that, the value shifts from changing the price to knowing what the price is carrying, which still matters when the bid board decides how much risk it is prepared to accept.
Will Torvane work for the owner on the same project?
Not without written consent from both parties. Independence has to be visible to be worth anything. Conflicts are checked before an engagement letter is issued, and an NDA is executed before any document changes hands.
Does Torvane prepare the estimate or the schedule?
No. Torvane reviews and advises. It does not build estimates or schedules, write the bid, direct construction, or take any compensation tied to whether a bid is won. The contractor's team owns the price and the plan, and every decision that follows.
